Psychic Self-Defense: Tower of Light
Today martial artists practice a wide array of physical exercises for self-protection against physical attack. Some may even refine their mental processes and perceptions through standard forms of meditation or practice chi kung exercises to develop the chi energies. But why stop there? There are also exercises for developing the chakras and the aura. Since these concepts are discussed at length in the literature, we won't explain them here. However, suffice it to say that the aura is the electromagnetic energy force field that surrounds each one of us. (The theory is actually more complex than this but this is better left for advanced study.)

Aura parameters such as colors, size, shape, evenness, and uniformity change dynamically over time in response to the total environment. It is affected by such factors as daily stress, psychological bombardment, other people's intentions and desires toward us, jealousy, induced fear, threats, hatred, and noise which can cause the aura to shrink or create wear and tear on the aura. There are exercises that help develop the ability to "see" auras but these will not be covered here.

Your energy can be drained in any of a number of ways. Sometimes other people can drain your energy leaving you tired. This could happen unintentionally by certain individuals. You may have had the experience of interacting with certain people who left you with that drained feeling. There are many exercises for developing energy, retaining energy, refining energy, and transmuting energy from lower to higher levels. Our concern here is protecting our energy by strengthening the auric field.

Our immune system offers internal physical protection from disease but our aura is our first line of defense. Obviously, the best defense is to avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. In order to develop such perfect timing, we need to be in harmony with the rhythms of nature (or to be one with the [frequencies and cycles of the energy] universe). You do not have to be a martial artist to do the exercise below. It does not matter what art you practice or what beliefs you subscribe to. It can be performed alone or as a supplement to your daily training regimen.

You may even come under direct psychic attack by occult forces and regular practice of the exercise given here will act as a preventive measure. If you're already under psychic attack, you may have to consult someone knowledgeable in these areas for advice.

Those who practice the given exercise report increased self-confidence, health, energy, respect, and courage. It is known to sharply reduce nightmares during sleep. The resulting strong aura has even protected practitioners from physical violence and accidents. Practice may even lead to spiritual advancement. The exercise is not intended to make you a superhuman wizard with magical powers so you should not come away with such an expectation. We are merely developing existing abilities, much the same as any martial art. No special equipment is required.

This is one of those closely guarded secrets some masters have reserved for their favorite pupils but it is being publicized here because we believe it benefits everyone. The exercise is a form of passive psychic self-defense and involves active meditation using visualization. It is easy to do and should be done two or three times a day, at least in the early morning and before going to bed at night. The exercise takes only a few minutes as a minimum but can be done as long as desired. The exercise is quite safe and can be done as many times during the day as desired. With practice, the visualization is more easily performed and can be called upon in an emergency when needed. Each step of this exercise serves an important function and should not be omitted.

Tower of Light Meditation
1. Stand erect, feet shoulder-width, arms at your sides, breathing evenly and deeply.

2. Progressively relax your entire body starting from the top of your head working slowly down to the bottoms of your feet.

3. Mentally visualize that you are surrounded by a long ellipsoid of intense, bright blue light that extends 9 inches outwardly from every point on the surface of your body.
4. Continue to maintain this image and visualize a globe of brilliant white light above (but not touching) your head. The globe is inside of your bright blue aura.

5. Concentrate on this bright white globe so that it becomes brighter, glowing white like burning magnesium.

6. Keep both images of the bright blue aura and the brilliant white globe and mentally aspire to the highest standards of morality, good, and love that you can.

7. Next, feel the white globe showering you with glittering white light filled with silver sparkles. This white light should permeate your entire being, coursing vibrantly through you.
8. The outer shell of your aura should be an intense bright blue filled with the vibrant, sparkling white light. Concentrate on this complete image as long as you can, fully believing in its reality. Feel your outer auric shell as a hard, sharply defined blue as you feel blissful and alert.
9. As you close, let the image fade slowly while believing that it is not fading from reality.




The Blue Sky Meditation

This is a very peaceful meditation technique that many people find helps relieve stress and worry in their everyday lives. To practice this technique, begin by closing your eyes and imagining a beautiful and cloudless blue sky, that stretches on forever in every direction. Imagine that you are sitting in the middle of this blue sky, and as you sit there, your body becomes lighter and lighter. After a few minutes, feel that you actually become so light that you float up into the beautiful blue sky.

Now just feel that you are floating peacefully in the beautiful blue sky. All of your cares and worries have disappeared, and you feel ever lighter and happier. The blue sky stretches on endlessly around you, and you feel that you become so light and free that you and the sky merge and become one. There is no longer any separation between you and the blue sky. Your body and mind have merged with the endless light, peace and happiness of the blue sky.

If you can, try to completely let go, and enjoy the feeling of oneness and peace.

When you finish your meditation open your eyes. The feelings of peace and happiness that you experienced while you were meditating will stay with you as continue on with your day.

Bubble of Protection Meditation

Here's a simple safety and protection meditation. This visualization can be used around people, pets, homes, cars, airplanes, our world and around anything you want to protect. After doing this a few times, you will not need the candles. You will be able to visualize the ball of white light at any time and any place. If you wish to protect a loved one and you have a photo of them, place it between the candles for the meditation. (Don't let it catch fire!)

You may cast a circle if you like, but it is not necessary.
Light white candles for protection.

Begin the meditation:

Sit down and get comfortable. Relax. Breathe slow and deep. Let all tension flow into the earth. Feel calm and peaceful. You are completely relaxed.   Now visualize a beautiful white light all around you, like a bubble. It shimmers and sparkles. Now make it stronger, and then make it shine brighter. Make it grow until it fills the room you are in. Fill the bubble with love. Know that it will protect you where ever you go.

To protect a loved one:

Now picture your loved one. See a glowing light all around them. It is just like the bubble you are in. It glows with safety and protection. Make it stronger, bigger, brighter. Visualize this as long as you like. When you are done, wish your loved one well and know that they are safe.  

Now prepare to end the meditation. Feel your circle of light bring you back to the present moment and the room you are in. Take a deep breath and stretch for a moment before you get up.

Let the candles burn as long as you like, then snuff them out. You may light them at any time you wish to strengthen the visualization and protection.

Heart Filled With Love Meditation

As with consciousness and bliss, love is ever present, showering us with infinite blessings eternally. We simply have to be empty of everything that isn’t loving and the universe will fill us with love. Every breath we take in, every heart beat, and every sensation we experience is an act of love. In spite of our inability and disinclination to share and act in a loving way, the higher power that caused us to have life continues to bless us with the penultimate gifts of love, life, and consciousness.

Sit in a comfortable place, in a posture that will allow you to be free from all physical tension. Close your eyes. Command your body, mind, and emotions to not distract you in any way. Hear and feel your breath going in, retaining, and leaving. When you have established a steady, effortless rhythm, focus your attention on your minds eye.

Receive love with every breath.

Store love in your heart.

See and feel it beam out and saturate every cell in your body.

Visualize love radiating from your heart to someone who needs love.

See their heart fill with love, saturate every cell in their body, and radiate out from their heart in every direction.

Visualize love radiating from your heart to everyone, everywhere. See them all filling with love, saturating with love, and beaming love from their hearts to everyone, everywhere.

Visualize the entire universe pulsing with love. This is reality and now is the eternal moment to realize it. See and feel yourself dissolve into pure love. Know this love, feel this love, share this love. And live happily ever after.

Recovering Perfection Meditation

Our basic state is one of purity, bliss, and awareness. When you were a baby you were in this virginal, joyous condition. The events of your life have caused you to add layers of negativity around this holy state to such a degree that now you suffer more and more and experience the blessed and immaculate in your life far too rarely. You need to add nothing to know the ecstasy that is your birthright. What will let this eternal moment of infinite joy reoccur is the removal of the obstacles to your pure energy connection.

The first step in recovering your perfection is to melt away all your tension. Relax. Witness and feel your breath as it comes and goes. With every exhale, send out a characteristic that has caused you to be blind to your light. With every inhale, bring into your being a divine attribute and feel yourself being purified. Send the energy throughout your body, mind, and emotions.

Exhale fear, inhale courage.

Exhale cold-heartedness, inhale compassion.

Exhale ignorance, inhale wisdom.

Exhale egoism, inhale humility.

Exhale nervousness, inhale tranquility.

Exhale hate, inhale love.

Exhale suffering, inhale peace.

And on and on and on.

Continue until you have nothing else blocking your glory. At the right time, your holy moment arrives. Then, even your affirmations are unnecessary. The silence that transcends all names and forms fills you as you realize your oneness with the source of all breath. Your consciousness fills the universe and you had simply forgotten this, your eternal reality. You awaken from the dream and live happily ever after.

Roses Meditation

When was the last time you stopped and really looked at the perfection of a rose? I am sure the smell of a fresh rose brings back fond memories of the past for you... the person who gave you your first rose... the person who wore the rose oil perfume...the neighbor with the beautifully manicured garden. For me, the rose is representational of the heart chakra (center of your chest) If you close your eyes and visualize a pink rosebud at your heart chakra.. with each breath it begins to blossom a bit more and with each breath you become more open to the beauty within and around you... also open to experience perfect love. If you are in a relationship this visualization works particularly well sitting opposite eachother and breathing in unison. Continue the meditation until your flower has opened completely and you feel a sense of calm, happiness and peace. Treat yourself... buy yourself roses - and remind yourself how much you love YOU!

Solar Disc Visualization

To prevent the entry of any negative energies into the solar plexus chakra, visualize a golden disc of light covering it. Put the disc in place as soon as you enter an emotional atmosphere or when any negative thoughts are being expressed in your presence.

Self Love Meditation

There is an infinite well of love. I now allow this love to flow to the surface. It fills my heart, my body, my mind, my consciousness, my very being and radiates out from me in all directions and returns to me multiplied. The more love I use and give, the more I have to give; the supply is endless. The use of love makes me feel good. It is an expression of my inner joy.
Therefore I take loving care of my body. I lovingly feed it nourishing food and beverages. I lovingly groom and dress it, and my body lovingly responds to me with vibrant health and energy.
Therefore I provide for myself a comfortable home, one that fills all my needs and is a pleasure to be in. I fill the rooms with the vibration of love so that all who enter, myself included, will feel this love and be nourished by it.
Therefore I work at a job that I truly enjoy doing, one that uses my creative talents and abilities, working with and for people who I love and who love me, and earning a good income.
Therefore I behave and think in a loving way to all people for I know that that which I give out returns to me multiplied. I only attract loving people in my world for they are a mirror of myself.
Therefore I forgive and totally release the past and all past experiences and I am free.
Therefore I love totally in the now experiencing each moment as good and knowing that my future is bright, joyous and secure for I am a beloved child of the universe and the universe lovingly takes care of me now and forever more.
